Foot, meet mouth
This is getting talked about like crazy out there, but I'll jump in and make sure everyone knows exactly what our our wonderful junior Senator from Pennsylvania, Rick "Santorum" Santorum said on the floor of the US Congress yesterday:
"What the Democrats are doing is the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying, 'I'm in Paris. How dare you invade me. How dare you bomb my city? It's mine.' This is no more the rule of the senate than it was the rule of the senate before not to filibuster."Chuck Pennacchio, who is running against Casey Jr. in the Democratic party to face Santorum in '06 responded.
Video. Audio.
“As an historian of Holocaust-era Germany, I find Rick Santorum’s comment to be offensive, divisive, and destructive. Rick Santorum should immediately issue a public apology, and then retreat with conscience to consider the lasting damage he has done to the United States Senate and to the memory of 12 million Holocaust victims. This SHOULD be a story. Let's see what the MSM does with it.
“How ironic is it that he would make such an extremist comment, comparing Senate Democrats to Adolph Hitler, while his own political party seeks to consolidate all governmental power in its own hands?"
