The frothy mixture of blogs and politics
March 25th, 2005 by JoshHere in Pennsylvania we’re looking at the start of potentially the largest and most contentious Senate race of 2006. In one corner, the incumbent right-wing zealot and Bush Social Security plan schill, Rick Santorum. In the other, Bob Casey:
Several recent polls confirm that Bob Casey is the Democrat in the strongest position to defeat Republican incumbent Rick Santorum. Santorum is the third most powerful Republican Senator and the poster child for the radical right-wing in America. And, Santorum could be a possible 2008 Presidential contender. Four years of President Santorum would make the Bush agenda seem moderate…that’s why we need to beat him now!The bottom line: Bob Casey is the Democrat who can take down Rick Santorum. Please see data from a recent SurveyUSA election poll.
Even if we all don’t agree on every issue, we all recognize the importance of this race: A Democratic victory in Pennsylvania could very well tip the balance of power in the Senate for the Democrats. By returning control of the Senate to the Democrats, we’ll be able to stop the far-right agenda being imposed on us by Rick Santorum and the Republican leadership in Washington.
I’m glad there are smart capable people working on this campaign.

Bob Casey is going to run all over Santorum! I was just on Casey’s website http://www.BobCaseyforPA.com. Democrats are going to win this election!

as much as I understand the need to beat Santorum, it’s going to be hard for me to support (with any enthusiasm) a conservative like Casey who is anti-choice. I wish Hoeffel was running.
