Everyone needs music

I haven’t blogged in a couple of days because I’ve been busy at work and occupied at night. Pretty much my favorite thing to do on any given night is go see live music. I started with Dave Matthews Band when I was in high school and since then have expanded into so many other artists. For the past few years I’ve spent all my days off travelling the country to see Phish and an assortment of other talented jammers. These days I see mostly local shows though.

Recently I’ve been accompanying Noah to the Temple Jazz senior recitals. Last week was a tenor sax recital with one of the better drummers I’ve seen in a while. And last night we saw another jazz drummer’s recital. Great tunes of which I sadly only remember the pop songs: Shining Star and Paranoid Android. But it’s a cool scene. Lots of cats jamming to the music and a gorgeous room with mics that just make me salivate. If you’re looking for some free live music to see any night of the week you should check it out.

Amazingly, I’ve been finding a lot of good artists in the music section of The Metro. Check out Bloc Party if you get the chance.
