I love NPR
June 28th, 2005 by JoshAnd so do local Jersey power poppers Fountains of Wayne apparently. Their just released album, Out-Of-State Plates oddly begins with a clip from Terry Gross’s introduction of Ken Tucker’s review of one of their past albums from Fresh Air.
I interned for WXPN for a year as a production assistant for Live at the World Cafe (best. job. ever.) so public radio holds an especially tender place in my heart. And though I’m only a couple of tracks into this album, so far FOW are still delivering well constructed and catchy pop songs.
And I just picked up my tickets for both the Big Summer Classic and Trey Anastasio with Medeski Martin and Wood. Yes!
UPDATE (6/28/05 04:22 pm): Hahahaha! What a good cover of Baby One More Time. I’m not a Brittany fan at all, but you know what…? It’s a great tune.

Anyway, did you hear that as of this Friday (July 1), World Cafe officially becomes an NPR show? Which means…drum roll please…online streaming archives! I can’t wait.

What I’d love to do is just a rolling list of songs, like the delicious links on the sidebar, of what I’ve been listening to recently. But I will post some more playlists. Thanks for reminding me.
