Wanted: Democrat with a spine

Good afternoon to the blogosphere. This is my first post on SkaroffBlog and I come to you with a very important message…
Over the past year, Washington, DC has been enthralled in multiple ethics scandals that could threaten the Republican majority in the ’06 midterms. Names like: Jack Abramoff, Tom DeLay, Bob Ney and Randy ‘Duke’ Cunningham have been hammered in the mainstream media, on the blogs, and in front of Congressional panels. However, the House ethics process is at a standstill, so some or all of these crooked politicians could walk away free from indictment, admonishment, a slap on the wrist, or even a good whack on the behind!
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is a non-profit, progressive legal watchdog group dedicated to holding public officials accountable for their actions. The Executive Director, Melanie Sloan wrote an op-ed about the current ethics situation in Washington. The piece was posted in the San Diego Union Tribune.
MORE: Link over to the ofrankenfactor blog and participate in CREW’s latest project: please politely call your congressperson and ask him or her to file an ethics complaint against Rep. Ney
