It was so hot outside, you could fry an egg

July 11th, 2005 by Josh

I find myself now sitting at my desk with nothing to say for once. It’s not that there is nothing out there in the world to blog about. The Hotline’s new Blogometer, a daily summary of what’s going on in the blogosphere, shows that people are busy talking about the London bombing, Valerie Plame, CAFTA, and a variety of other domestic policy. And that’s just the political side of the internet. But for some reason this Monday morning, I just don’t have anything to add to the cacophony that makes up our new and exciting medium.

Perhaps it’s my sunburn. This weekend was spent “down the shore” as we call it here in the greater Philadelphia area. Unlike so many other Philadelphians, I’m not a shore person, and despite living here for nearly 20 years now, I still haven’t gotten a handle on what makes the New Jersey beaches so exciting. A couple hours in the sand, sun, and salt is about all I can take. Combine that with my pasty white exterior, and that non-sun-resistant eastern European blood, and you’ve got a great recipe for a bright pink hide. It hurts.

You are really really hot…did you get those sunglasses when you signed up with the church of scientology?
