Thank You

July 26th, 2005 by Josh

I launched this site on March 18, 2005. Ostensibly to finally use the domain name I’d been paying for for years and to raise my name recognition on Google and on the web in general. But as I stumbled along, changing the site design, adding comments and trackbacks, moving from Blogger to WordPress, and learning what this whole blogging thing is really about, I realized that I write here for much better reasons.

People actually do come and see what I write, and hopefully think about it. Unlike a few years ago when running a website would’ve cast you immediately as a nerd, or a geek, friends and family compliment me on what we do here. I’ve become more comfortable writing for myself and the public, a task that I had (un)fortunately managed to avoid as an engineer in college. This site has become my own little corner in the wild world of the World Wide Web.

So it gives me great pleasure to tell you all that any day now we’ll be hitting 25,000 hits on the site. It may not be much on the grand scale of things, but I sure think it’s cool.

PS - A special thanks to Bec, Jake, Peter, and Matthew for adding their voices and helping to keep things running around here.

    Josh-

Your blog has saved me a lot of money in therapy and anger management classes. Thanks for putting skaroffblog.blogspot.splugen.taint.org online and for allowing me to be a part of such a dynamic and succulent online community.
