Now here’s something that even the most apolitical beer swiggers of us can get down with. Back in April, the beer making Anheuser-Busch Co. wrote a check to the South Carolina Republican party for $5,000. Due to some bureaucratic slip (using a bit too much of the product?) the check was mailed to the SC Democratic party instead and immediately deposited. Now the Republicans want their beer money back!

Democrats say they have sent a refund check back to Anheuser-Busch: “Nobody should expect us to write a check to the Republican Party,” said Lachlan McIntosh, the Democratic Party’s executive director.

The GOP said the refund was sent only after it threatened a lawsuit.
