Can I have the bathroom pass?
September 14th, 2005 by JoshThe President of the United States spoke today in front of the United Nations, which would normally be news, but in the Bush administration is really just an exercise in make-believe. Condi Rice of course strode in next to him and sat by his side, looking fetching in her new shoes. Reuters happened to capture a photo of Bush writing a note to his Secretary of State:
Reuters captions the photo with the meaningless platitude of “World leaders are exploring ways to revitalize the United Nations at a summit on Wednesday but their blueprint falls short of Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s vision of freedom from want, persecution and war.” But if you zoom in a little, you can see the actual caption:

Forget making fun of Bush, but it is seriously disturbing that the president has to ask to go pee pee. It has become abundantly clear that he is nothing more that a frat boy buffon whose good-old-boy charm is perfect for talking to “folks” but terrible at everything else. This man is not a chief executive, but rather a walking photo op. MSNBC reported that since Bush doesn’t watch the news he genuinely had no idea what was going on in the Gulf coast until his aides made him a DVD to watch on his plane ride. Does he have any clue as to what is going on in the world? I used to think Dick Cheney was running the show but even that doesn’t seem possible now. It is a sad embarrassment that this clown is our leader.

I think he is really starting to mirror his hero, Ronny Reagan. I think he’s starting to show the early signs of dementia.

He may have just want to be peelitically correct. I do not see any harm. I am sure anyone with any sense of propriety would do the same. To be critical over something so minute is absurdly hateful.
