After an unfortunate encounter between my old Sony DSC-V1 and a whole lot of beer, I found myself camera-less this past Memorial Day. Seeing how I’m going back to the scene of the crime, and an anti-war rally seems to offer nearly unlimited possibilities for interesting photos, I went out to Ritz Camera in Liberty Place and with the help of salesman Dave, picked up a new Canon PowerShot SD400.

This thing is tiny and offers a 3X optical zoom and 5 MP. Very much looking forward to using this camera quite a bit. Look for a flickr photostream to come soon. And yes, I did get the extended service plan on this one. Learned my lesson there.

I realize it’s silly to take a picture of my new fancy camera with the VGA camera in my phone, but the battery’s charging and it’s all I got!
