2 Percent

October 13th, 2005 by Josh

Last week analysts theorized that Bush’s sub-40 approval numbers were the floor for this president. That due to the makeup of American electoral politics no elected (hah!) president could go much lower. A new NBC/Wall Street Journal Poll confirms his low approval numbers and adds this tidbit of information:

2 percent of African Americans approve of the president. 2%!!

Tim Russert this morning said of the new poll, he could not “find a pollster who can remember any President ever getting just 2 percent approval from African-Americans.

Don’t forget the margin of error! + or – about 2%

  2. Josh Says:

Yeah, I was going to point out that the margin of error on the poll is 3.4%. Meaning Bush is anywhere from -1.4% to 5.4%. However that’s on the entire sample pool. The African-American sample population would be much smaller – if the numbers work only around 120 – so the margin of error for that particular statistic would be much higher.

    Still a telling number however.

Is it fair to say that George W. Bush hates black folks?

  4. Josh Says:

Probably fairer to say black folks hate George W. Bush.
