It sure is nice to wake up on a Wednesday morning in early November and have something to smile about. Last night was a good night to be a Democrat, and showed a clear repudiation by the public of Republicans and the bankrupt right wing conservative ideology.

• From New Jersey, Governor John Corzine.
• From Virginia, Governor Timothy Kaine.
• In California, all four of Governor Schwarzenegger’s special election ballot initiatives fail.
• ALL eight Republican school board members in Dover, PA who supported the teaching of ‘intelligent design’ are booted out and replaced by Democrats.
• Also state legislature pickups, the failure of an anti-gay ballot iniative in Maine, and the defeat of a Bush-endorsing Dem in the St. Paul, MN mayoral primary. Go to Kos and MyDD for more coverage.

Mighty fine indeed. Let’s get ready for 2006.
