The much-talked-about &quot;hope&quot; was an early casualty. People who wanted the economy to improve, betrayed; people who wanted Guantanamo closed down, betrayed; people who wanted an end to earmarks, betrayed.

All of life is like that, really. You make important decisions for an emotional high, it doesn&#039;t work out over the long term. Now people who didn&#039;t learn, have to learn it the hard way. Unfortunately, the rest of us have to as well.</description>
